Children's International Memorial Place

HISTORY

The International Children's Memorial Place was incorporated in 1999. The location for this site, Scales Pond, is over 12 acres in size and is located in the centre of PEI.  Historically the area has been known for its beauty, hydro power generation, fishing and canoeing/kayaking. In its entirety the site is comprised of a 26 acre pond, dam, fish ladder, and a very serene walking trail which parallels the Dunk River. Scales Pond allows you access to the largest pond on PEI.

The Historic Rogers House, also located on the grounds, currently incorporates CIMP's office, boardroom, greeting center, research facilities and counselling services area.

The Scales Hydro Plant located on the premises was de-commissioned in 1976 and is being upgraded and made ready for use as a fully functional teaching museum.

The development of the International Children's Memorial Place is an on going, evolving work. We offer memorial benches, brick walkway or the planting of a tree in the Ever Living Forest as manners to commemorate a Loved One. (Note: Trees are reserved for Children.)
